The WCI Store | White Coat Investor

I hinted a little bit about this upcoming post in the May FREE monthly newsletter (you know, the one with the secret blog post). We have a HUGE announcement today. Here it is:

 

 

That’s right, if you’ve been wanting some WCI swag, but haven’t been able to make it to a WCI conference, now is your chance to get some. The store already has a lot of fun stuff available in it, but the best part is that it is a living entity that can change and grow over the years. If there is stuff there that nobody wants, we’ll quit selling it. If there is something you would like to see there, let us know, and we’ll add it.

I have no idea if the store will be profitable or not. Obviously, I hope so, but it serves a lot of functions for us that are valuable whether it ever turns a profit or not. Mostly, it frees our staff up from ordering, packaging, and shipping a lot of the things that we give out in the various contests and promotions we do throughout the year. We learned our lesson after WCICON20. Despite spending hours putting together swag bags in Las Vegas, we still ended up with 400 boxes of books and swag in our rental house after the conference. They lined both sides of every hallway in the house and a large chunk of the living room. When we rolled into the Post Office with two SUVs full of boxes to ship, it dawned on us that there had to be a better way. Well, this store is the better way.

Because we can print them in bulk and buy them at a cheaper price from Amazon than you can, we can pass some of those savings on to you. Amazon’s prices are always changing, too, but as I type this, we’re selling Guide for Students for $6 less than Amazon and Boot Camp for $5 less than Amazon. We hope to also figure out a way to run bulk book sales through there, but for now, you need to email [email protected] for that. If you buy 25+ copies, we’ll sell them much cheaper. ($15.99 for the original, $16.99 for Boot Camp, and $17.99 for Guide for Students).

 

White Coat Investor Shirts

This is the most fun part of the store for me. We’ve been brainstorming ideas for T-shirts and putting some of them in place so you can show your style as a White Coat Investor. We have no idea if you all will find the ones we think are cool worth buying or not, but as time goes on, we’ll pull down the ones the WCI community doesn’t buy and replace them with new ones to try. These are high-quality, soft T-shirts because we don’t like wearing the crappy ones, either.

Pretty cool, right? But the fun part about owning a store is that we can make changes. Different colors? Different designs? Different sizes? Whatever. It can all be changed based on your feedback. Send us your designs and ideas. If we use them, maybe you’ll get the first one!

 

Other WCI Merchandise

We have some Nike brand polo shirts and will soon have sweatshirts, too. We have pens, journals, and stickers. We also have those sweet Yeti 30 oz. WCI emblazoned tumblers for your cold beverages or the 20 oz for your hot beverages.  Stainless steel vacuum water bottles and custom Jytte beanies will be arriving in a few weeks. There really is no limit. If you guys want it, we’ll make it!

We’ll also have some special deals on some random items from time to time, such as collections of leftover books from prior conferences.

 

 

Now I’m sure we’ll have some growing pains. I mean, we’ve never actually run any sort of an online retail store. Like everything else with WCI, we’re just making it up as we go along. So we appreciate your patience if we end up sold out of something for a while. But let’s have some fun with this.
